The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered a global health crisis and has locked us up in our home. This confinement in the house is proving too stressful for many of us. Along with adults, children are also facing the brunt of it. The innocent little kids do not understand the gravity of the situation, and this lockdown is restricting them from leading their daily life in the usual way.

The deadly virus has already infected over a million people and caused a similar number of deaths weary parents want to keep their child safe from the deadly disease. But this is creating a psychological impact on the children and resulting in anxiousness, stress, and even depression in them. The lockdown has robbed their happiness, and it is creating irritation in their mind. Children of all ages are getting affected by this lockdown. Here are some of the solid reasons that are stressing out the kids in this lockdown period.

Children are missing their playtime

Kids have a habit of playing together and enjoy their time. They might be spending an unprecedented holiday at their home, but they are not allowed to play outside with their friends due to viral infections. Children hate being confined inside the home and like spend most of the time playing outdoors with their friends. They engage in various games and sports activities, which help them to pass their time and also strengthen the bonding of friendship. This restriction on going out of the house and meeting friends is causing emotional stress on them. Besides, lack of external activities and playtime is inducing boredom in them, which is making them more frustrated.

They are missing their school

School is another place where children socialize with each other, along with learning and doing various activities. But the deadly novel coronavirus is a highly contagious disease that can easily spread from one person to another. In the context of that, most of countries and states have ordered to shut down their school and other educational institutions. But this abrupt shutting down of the schools with no other outdoor activities is making the kids miss their school. As the daily routine of the children has been halted completely, many are finding it difficult to cope up with the present circumstances. Hence, it is also leading to a state of confusion and worry in them, which causing mental issues for them.

They are feeling neglected

Since the pandemic has forced all the people to stay at home, including the adults, the grownups are now compelled to do all household work themselves in the absence of maids. There are also people who are doing work from home for their companies in order to keep their jobs secure. In amid of all these, parents are not able to spend time with their children despite being at home all the time. Hence, the kids begin to feel that they are being neglected, and the parents are not paying attention to them. This can trigger another emotional problem in the children, which can result in depression and aggressive behavior too.
